Sapphire Curtains manufactures replacement and new-build curtains for EN 12642-XL curtainsider trailers and rigid bodywork. While EN 12642-XL applies to the complete body structure rather than an individual curtain, our curtains are manufactured for use on bodywork designed and certified to this standard.
As a division of Don-Bur, Sapphire Curtains supports a wide range of Don-Bur curtainsider bodies covered by TUV-issued EN 12642-XL certification. Our curtain designs have been included as part of complete body tests carried out to EN 12642-XL and are manufactured to the approved specifications for those certified body types.
For Don-Bur-built bodies, we can normally identify the correct curtain specification using the chassis VIN, ensuring the replacement curtain matches the original certified design. For bodywork manufactured by other OEMs, we simply need confirmation that the vehicle is built to an EN 12642-XL specification so that the appropriate curtain can be supplied.
It is important to understand that EN 12642-XL certification applies to the complete superstructure. Replacing a curtain does not make a standard body EN 12642-XL compliant; instead, the replacement curtain is manufactured for installation on an existing EN 12642-XL body.

Our curtains incorporate an additional reinforced webbing structure bonded to the PVC curtain material. This construction is designed to reduce curtain bulging and support the structural performance expected of an EN 12642-XL body.
